Notes: Fox finds home with Pettys after years at Yates
FONTANA, Calif. -- Thursday's opening day of the final session of Sprint Cup Preseason Thunder, at California Speedway, marked the completion of the first week that Bobby Labonte's new car chief, Raymond Fox, had spent working for Petty Enterprises on its No. 43 Dodge. Twenty years and an even greater family legacy with Robert Yates Racing didn't keep Fox, the grandson of NASCAR legend Ray Fox, from realizing the future at Yates Racing wasn't for him. .

Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton's movie The Hottie and The Nottie completely tanked this weekend. To be honest, I'm surprised it made more than $1.50. But, I'm no box office analyst. Fortunately the folks at Fantasy Moguls are and, like my fifth grade girlfriend, did the math for me: The final count will show that the critically reviled comedy featuring the seemingly talentless Hilton has sold a meager $25,500 in tickets at 111 locations over the weekend. That's only $230 per screen for theaters that were convinced to book this disaster. That means that, based on an $8 average ticket price, 29 paying customers showed up at each location over the 3-day. Paris didn't seem too concerned that her acting career is back in the shitter where God himself wants it. She unveiled her new line of shoes at Macy's yesterday and signed autographs for fans.
Britney Spears and Adnan: ‘Classiest Couple ‘08’
Britney Spears and her paparazzi man-candy Adnan Ghalib have been embarking on daily shopping sprees over the past week. One stop was the Betsey Johnson store in Sherman Oaks where Britney apparently came out of a dressing room buck-ass naked, according to Life & Style: "I was blown away. Britney's private parts were right in front of me!" a store employee tells Life & Style. "I grabbed a dress to cover her and she screamed, 'Get away from me! Don't you f------ come near me!' says the employee. "Then she disappeared in the dressing room with Adnan for 45 minutes. They were making weird noises. It was disgusting." When Britney and Adnan finally came out, what followed is probably the most accurate description of how I imagine Britney talking: "I couldn't understand a word she was saying.
Sunoco, Inc. Q4 2007 Earnings Call Transcript
The earnings release for Sunoco Logistics Partners LP provides a more detailed discussion of its quarterly performance but in general the solid earnings were largely due to strong demand for pipelines and terminaling and strong operations from the partnerships assets including those acquired in recent years and increased earnings from its least crude acquisition business. For the full year 2007, logistics earned $45 million up $9 million from 2006 and the highest level since the formation Sunoco Logistics Partners in 2002. Coke, which lost $2 million in the fourth quarter was impacted by $14 million unfavorable partial phase-out of alternative fuel tax credits due to higher crude oil prices. As a reminder, through the end of 2007, our Coke business benefited from certain section 29 non-conventional fuel tax credits, which were subject to phase-out on a ratable basis, when the annual crude oil price on the WTI basis averaged over approximately $62 a barrel, with full phase-out at an estimated annual average of about $76 barrels WTI.
Coastal Post Online
The company's "Health and Wellness" website pictures a smiling family in tennis shoes and workout clothes enjoying a brisk walk. All are consuming Pepsi products. Dad is drinking a can of Pepsi. Grandma is toting a bag of Lay's potato chips. Aside from the questionable workout, we're left to wonder: When did Pepsi become an advocate for health? Marsha Holmberg, a food editor at the Oregonianwho flew in from Portland, says too many Americans have become culinary illiterates, convinced by television commercials that processed food is nutritious. "Nobody thinks they have the time to cook," Holmberg says. "They think it's complicated. In reality, it takes as much time to make from a mix as it does to make from scratch. It's an illusion that food preparation takes time." At the convention's bookstore, neat rows of dietitian guidebooks -- with covers of colorful fruit and vegetables, alongside the occasional whole grain cereal or wheat stalk -- lined the booths.
