My guess is McCain. If that's right, then succeeding in Iraq, as quickly as possible, may not only be the surest route to the White House for the Democrats. It may also be the quickest. ... If there is a way to win, Democrats have at least as big a partisan incentive to find it as Republicans do. ... Laura Bush promotes healthy living
Kansas City, Mo. - In a rare break from tradition, first lady Laura Bush offered this week's national radio address to promote healthy living and heart-disease prevention. "President Bush has handed the mike over to me," she said, according to a White House transcript of the address, which will air Saturday. "And today, I'd like to talk about something that's close to my heart - America's heart health." Mrs. Bush is the ambassador for the Heart Truth, a campaign to educate women about the risks of heart disease and the steps to prevent it. She said the disease affects more than 80 million people in the U.S. and claims the life of one American every minute. "Symptoms of a heart attack can be different in women than in men," she said. "Symptoms in women can include persistent fatigue, difficulty breathing, and a pain in the jaw or neck.
Surcharges spur energy efficiency
The Globe has decided to resurrect the old African-American "welfare queen" canard on the latest home mortgage crisis ("Broker's clients detail web of dashed dreams," Jan. 20). I see it as an outrageous exploitation by the rich and powerful of the poor, mostly African-Americans, and other minorities and their communities. Did you know that African-Americans and other minorities who do honestly qualify for a mortgage generally pay more? BWB. Borrowing While Black. This same criminally inflated real estate bubble happened 20 years ago and caused the collapse of the savings and loan industry. But instead of this experience informing the politicians, who raked in the campaign contributions, or the media, who lapped up the advertising dollars, it only informed the criminal conspirators, who were more brazen this time than the last, making bad loans to desperate working people who lost confidence in the rental market.

You have serious problems in Corpus Christi. The town needs to promote N.Padre Island, waiting for the few developements in the city limits to do it, is nuts. The fact that the Airlines turn up their nose to C.C. is one example of the demise in the business Climate in Corpus. A 30% decline in home sales on the island in 2007 shows how important that Beach Vote was to Corpus. We can't blame that decline on Foreclosure and Mortgage market. That decline came because people who wanted to invest in the ground floor opportunity on the island, backed out. Due to the Intrawest deals failure. Few in Corpus Christi value Out-of-State people and the money they transfer to the community.... I know ! Warm Regards,Former resident of 78418 (Suggest removal) .
News | Is John McCain a War Hero?
He intends to post them on the Web, where they'll join a pile of documents that, Willbanks insists, proves McCain collaborated with the Communists during his five years as a POW. Willbanks has a paying job, as a bus driver for the City of Mesa. But he was recently reassigned to drive an adult day-care van. He's excited about it; the older people will want to talk about war history, and he can give them packets of information he keeps on McCain. He's already given out 15 or so. "I give them a packet, and they come back and say, 'Well, that goddamn traitor,'" he says. The "documents" include an article McCain wrote for U.S. News & World Report in 1973, upon his release from prison camp. In the article, McCain admits that he--like many POWs--confessed to war crimes under physical and emotional duress.
Red Blood Cell Nuclei Insight Reported
U.S. researchers have completed the first mechanistic study of how a red blood cell loses its nucleus, shedding light on mammalian evolution. Unlike the rest of the human body's cells, red blood cells lack nuclei and scientists have struggled to understand the mechanism by which maturing red blood cells eject their nuclei. Now, researchers led by Harvey Lodish at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research have modeled the complete process in vitro in mice. .
