Body Text Edit"/}Oneonta has taken many steps in the past several years to become more eco-friendly. The city has investigated buying electric cars for use by various departments. The public transit buses run on B20 biodiesel, a biodiesel mix. And last month, the Common Council set a goal of reducing city government's nonrenewable energy usage by 5 percent by next year. Now, Oneonta plans to have a hybrid-engine trolley in use this year, Mayor John Nader said. The trolley will be purchased using a federal transportation grant. The state Department of Transportation, which administers the grant, notified the city last week about funding totaling $555,000, of which $444,000 is federal, $55,500 is state and $55,500 is local. Of that funding, $375,000 will be for the trolley.

Whether your problem is thinning hair or acne, there are a few hot, new products on that claim to take away everything from wrinkles to too much hair. The products use some of the same technologies that a dermatologist may have used on you -- lasers, LED lights, and infrared light -- and you can use them all in your own home.
But do they work?
"These products provide at-home versions of procedures typically performed in a doctor's office: light treatments, laser hair removal, or chemical peels," says Linda Wells, editor in chief of Allure magazine.
"In terms of at-home treatments, this is just the beginning."
Wells and some Allure staffers visited The Early Show Wednesday and reported on the effectiveness of products the staffers tried for several weeks.
Chad to investigate new 'kidnap' claims
The reports come on the heels of Chad's kidnapping charges against six French workers with the group Zoe's Ark who are accused of trying to take 103 other children out of Chad to France. The group said the children were orphans from Sudan's conflict-ridden Darfur region, but the French Foreign Ministry and others have cast doubt on the claims. The Zoe's Ark affair has infuriated Chadians, but it is not known if the group was involved in the alleged transport of the 74 children whose cases have now come to light, said Masngarel Kagah of the public prosecutor's department. The Network of Human Rights Associations in Chad wrote to the public prosecutor's department with details about the 74, who were said to have been flown to a military airport outside Paris on Sept.
