If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It: Starpulse Examines Plastic Surgery ...

Beauty is a funny thing. Forever a concern for both the beautiful and un-beautiful alike, attaining and maintaining a consistent level of seemingly effortless attractiveness requires, for most of us, a lot of work.

Saturating our television shows, magazines and movies (with the exception of most French films, to their credit), conventional standards of beauty are as inescapable as they are unrealistic. They demand of us a level of aesthetic perfection that most of us simply cannot deliver - not even with the most expensive pills and potions at our disposal.

So, what's a regular Joe or Josephine to do? Most of us end up doing the best with what we have; we avoid fluorescent lights, sing the praises of Polaroid cameras, and try to find solace in our mothers' advice: "Stop obsessing.

Westminster talks to set unionist agenda for the future of Scotland

For Labour, the central issue is the difference between Ms Alexander, the Scottish Labour leader, and Mr Browne. Ms Alexander has made the drive for more powers for Holyrood a central part of her leadership. She wants to see the commission discuss more fiscal autonomy for Holyrood. The Scottish Secretary, however, is not quite so keen on this. He is having to tread a careful line between the demands of his Scottish leader for change and the cool response from the Prime Minister, who simply dismissed the question of the commission last week with the phrase: "Its a debate that should happen."AN APPEAL DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLEALEX Salmond launched the National Conversation on Independence last year in an .

Camera with built-in GPS to be unveiled at PMA?

Well, that's what the folks over at the Geotate booth were talking about during the PMA Sneak Peek event held today at the Las Vegas Convention Center. According to them, the camera will be developed by a Taiwanese vendor and introduced under a branded camera name during PMA.

Geotate believes that its GPS geotagging solution can overcome common issues faced by other similar devices in the market today such as sluggish GPS response and power drain. This is achieved by separating the GPS data capture and processing. Once the shutter is pressed, the GPS data is stored in the memory and will only be processed when it is transferred to the PC and connected to Geotate's server.

Bill Gates - You Asked The Questions

I've interviewed Bill Gates three or four times over a 12 year period, and each time I come out impressed by the sheer professionalism of the Microsoft PR operation but wondering whether we've been successfully spun.

This time we tried a new tactic - getting BBC viewers, listeners and readers to ask the questions. We had thousands, covering every aspect of Bill Gates and Microsoft - past, present and future. Over two hundred were seeking jobs, one gentleman was proposing himself as the next CEO of Microsoft, and another wondered whether the secrets of Windows software had been recovered from a crashed UFO.

We did not ask that one, but managed to get through around fifteen questions during our allotted fifteen minutes. As ever, Mr Gates appeared very well briefed.

A Shockey development?

You can't just go to the Super Bowl and then relax," he said. "We're working harder than ever because we want to be in this situation every year."

To market, to market: Samuel in prime spot among free agent cornerbacks

While the picture could be altered over the next 2-3 weeks as teams assign franchise tags, reach extensions with would-be free agents, or cut players, here is a snapshot look at how the unrestricted free agent market is shaping up at each position:

QUARTERBACK: Teams looking for a solid backup who could challenge for the top job will find help, as Todd Collins (Redskins), Daunte Culpepper (Raiders), Rex Grossman (Bears), and Billy Volek (Chargers) are set to hit the market.

RUNNING BACK: Michael Turner (Chargers), who drew interest as a restricted free agent last offseason, is the headliner of a strong crop that also includes Jamal Lewis (Browns), Chris Brown (Titans), Justin Fargas (Raiders), Ron Dayne (Texans), and Mewelde Moore (Vikings).

Joe Garofoli

It flicked Shuster off the bottom of its shoe before sundown Friday, saying he "has been suspended from appearing on all NBC News broadcasts, other than to make his apology (Friday). He has also extended an apology to the Clinton family. NBC News takes these matters seriously, and offers our sincere regrets to the Clintons for the remarks."

But is that enough? Can this debate be saved?

Ellen "Emily's List" Malcolm is pissed. (Can we say that?) Emily -- a huge Clinton fan -- wrote a letter to NBC news czar Phil Griffin Friday saying "the misogynistic pattern in the reporting by your network must come to an end. I know I speak for millions across this country when I demand that you take immediate steps and publicly tell us what you will do to eliminate this sexist and demeaning culture that has become so pervasive in your network."

Ouch.
